There is nothing like a sunset in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona. When the conditions are just right the sky can come alive with a rainbow of color.
This was photographed in Northern Scottsdale at a location I had been photographing for years, as it was right next to where I used to stay in my RV in the winter. Being able to live within a short walk of such beauty certainly had it’s advantages.
On this particular night, as soon as the sun went below the horizon the clouds came alive with such an intense display of yellow, orange, pink and red. The sunset was so bright it created a wonderful backlit glow around the cholla cactus.
Photographing the desert has become a passion of mine, and you can easily see why in this photograph.
