“Early Light at Wild Goose Island” - Glacier National Park, Montana

Early morning light at Wild Goose Island on Saint Mary Lake in Glacier National Park, Montana.

This was a long drive in the park in complete darkness from the West entrance to get to this spot before sunrise. Surprisingly we didn't encounter much wildlife along the road at night except for one black bear along the side of the road not too far away from where I stopped to photograph this.

This was photographed about a half-hour before sunrise, yet the morning light was already warming up the mountains in the background.
