For on this day hope was shown in the form of a fresh snowfall in the Phoenix desert with gorgeous late afternoon light, providing those around to see an unusual display of beauty.
I was waiting here for 2 hours just before sunset at the Superstition Mountains in Apache Junction, Arizona filled with hope. The sky was showcasing some wonderful looking clouds and the sun behind me looked like it was going to give me quite a show.
For about 4 or 5 minutes the sunlight reached across the valley to the snow-capped peaks of the Superstition Mountains which glowed from the warm light it was receiving. It was the perfect moment to reflect on the past year and think about the exciting possibilities of the new one.
Oh, and it was also the perfect moment to get to work photographing such beauty ;)
