“Fire and Ice” - Canyonlands National Park, Utah

Photographed in the middle of winter on a very cold morning, this arch in Southern Utah is known for it’s dramatic sunrise light. A normally crowded place, I was alone with my friend as we photographed the sunrise with snow showers in the area.

The hours I spent in the bone-chilling temperatures was certainly worth it for this photo! The snow showers on the horizon almost prevented me from getting this warm glow. But I was ready when a brief break in the clouds brought out the sun.
