"Portal to Ancient Worlds" - Utah
Finding this remote kiva in Canyonlands National Park, Utah was quite the challenge. I hiked out there on a cold winter day, probably 4 miles or so out there, starting off hiking in snow.
By the time I reached the kiva, I found out why it was built in this particular spot. Overlooking the valley and facing the sun and in an alcove, the temps were so warm I took off my jacket and layers and enjoyed the afternoon resting in just a short sleeved shirt, perfectly warm and content.
What a wonderful afternoon that was!
