Capitol Reef National Park - Utah
Read MoreTiming is everything - especially when you can only take one photo every 10-15 seconds and the light is moving fast. Sometimes you only get one shot at it!
Such were the conditions for this scene here in the badlands of Southern Utah outside Capitol Reef National Park.
I was using my @getolympus OM-D E-M1mk3 camera with the M.Zuiko 12-100mm f4 PRO lens in handheld high-res mode. This gives me a 50MP file, but it takes the camera around 10-15 seconds to process it before I can take another photo.
The light was rapidly changing, moving across the valley below. I waited until it lit the spire and took my shot. By the time the camera was ready to take another, the light was gone. But I got the photo I wanted in that one shot π
I knew when photographing this that it would make a fantastic black & white.
